SHOTTON STEEL booked their place in the second round of the North Wales Coast FA Intermediate Cup with a 4-1 victory over HALKYN UNITED.
Chris Duggie opened the scoring on 33 minutes and Paul Davies doubled the score on the stroke of half-time.
Within three minutes of the restart Jason Wright had also scored to virtually put the Steelmen through.
Drew McAulty gave them fright when he pulled one back for Halkyn on 53, but Rob Carey made sure the tie was sewn up in the 65th minute when he restored Shotton’s three-goal advantage.
